Which chord qualities can I practice?
Major, minor, diminished and augmented triads, plus major seventh (MM7), dominant seventh (Mm7), minor seventh (mm7), half-diminished seventh and fully diminished seventh chords.
Any tips for hearing chord quality?
Major sounds bright and stable; minor darker; diminished tense and small; augmented unresolved and stretched. For sevenths, listen for the major-7th clash (MM7) versus the dominant's pull to resolve (Mm7).
