DCAT Practice Test: 55 DLSU Entrance Exam Questions With Answers
Practice for the DLSU College Admission Test with the 55 original questions from our practice-test video, each with an explanation, then check what DLSU itself publishes: who can apply, the AY 2027-2028 test dates, and the application steps on Archers Hub.
The DCAT is De La Salle University's admission test for first-year college applicants. You apply on the Archers Hub portal, rank three programs, pay the application fee, and print a test permit. DLSU's public admissions pages do not publish the number of items, the time limit, the subtests, the fee amount, or a passing score, so trust your permit and the portal for test-day details.

DCAT practice test: 55 questions
These are the questions from our DCAT practice-test video. Because DLSU doesn't publish the DCAT's subtests, the set follows the four areas that past test takers and review centers report, which is unofficial: mental ability, mathematics, science, and English and reading. Work everything by hand. Pick an answer and press Check Answer to see the explanation; missed questions go to a retry queue. Every question is original, not from a real DCAT.
DLSU doesn't publish a passing score or how the test is weighed against your grades. As a planning goal, 39 or more of 55 (about 70%) is our own estimate, not a DLSU number.
Who can take the DCAT
For AY 2027-2028 first-year admission, DLSU lists these applicants:
- Grade 12 students expected to graduate at the end of AY 2026-2027.
- Grade 12 graduates, local or abroad (AY 2025-2026 or earlier), who have not taken any college coursework; they also upload a Declaration as a New Student form.
- PEPT, ALS, or NFEA&E passers certified eligible for college.
- Holders of SAT, AP, IB, or A Level results that meet DLSU's criteria, subject to evaluation.
How to apply on Archers Hub
Create an Archers Hub admissions account (applicants under 18 upload an Acknowledgement and Consent Form signed by a parent or guardian), fill in the application form, upload the required documents, choose three programs in order of preference, pay the application fee, and generate your test permit. Then submit.
After you submit, you can't change your answers or program choices. If something needs correcting or a document is missing, don't create a new application; open a ticket on the DLSU Service Request Ticket Portal. DLSU warns that false information or fraudulent documents can invalidate an application and may permanently bar the applicant.
AY 2027-2028 test dates
Provincial testing ran from September 5 (Cebu, Davao and Iloilo) to October 24, 2026 (Ilocos Norte and Batangas). The Animo Lane test was held on October 11, 2026 at DLSU Manila. Manila campus testing is on November 8, 2026; DLSU's admissions calendar also lists November 15. For the Laguna campus, the application page says December 6 and the calendar says December 4, so go by your permit.
Online testing is on November 27, December 4, and December 11, 2026. Each online date has a required mock test in the morning two days earlier: use it to check your laptop, camera, and connection.
DLSU also lists a smaller Term 2 intake for AY 2026-2027: applications October 1 to 28, 2026, the DCAT on November 4, and results on December 1.
What's on the DCAT (unofficial)
DLSU's admissions pages don't publish the subtests, item count, or time limit; your test permit and Archers Hub are the official places for test-day details. Past test takers and review centers report four areas: mental ability (number and letter series, analogies, logic), mathematics (algebra, geometry, word problems), science (biology, chemistry, physics), and English (grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension). Treat that as unofficial, and be wary of any cutoff score you see online.
A four-to-six-week study plan
This is our suggestion, not DLSU's. In week one, take a timed practice set across all four areas and find your weakest one. Then rotate: math every day worked by hand, science review from your Grade 11 and 12 notes, one English reading passage a day, and ten minutes of number and letter series.
In the last week, take one full timed practice test, check your permit and test site, and sleep well before test day.
Sample DCAT questions with answers
One question from each content area of the practice set above, with the answer and explanation. Try it before you open the answer.
Mental Ability
What comes next? 3, 7, 15, 31, 63, …
- 127
- 126
- 95
- 125
Show answer
A. 127
Each number is double the one before, plus one. Three times two plus one is seven, seven times two plus one is 15, and so on. 63 times two is 126, plus one is 127. 95 is the trap if you only add 32.
Mathematics
Solve: 5x − 7 = 18
- x = 2.2
- x = 5
- x = 11
- x = 4
Show answer
B. x = 5
Add seven to both sides, so five x equals 25. Divide both sides by five, and x equals five. Check it: five times five is 25, minus seven is 18. 2.2 comes from subtracting seven instead of adding it.
Science
Which organelle releases energy through cellular respiration?
- Nucleus
- Ribosome
- Chloroplast
- Mitochondrion
Show answer
D. Mitochondrion
The mitochondrion is where cellular respiration makes most of the cell's ATP, its usable energy. The nucleus holds the DNA, ribosomes build proteins, and chloroplasts capture light energy in plants during photosynthesis. So the answer is the mitochondrion.
English and Reading
Each of the players ______ a new uniform.
- have
- has
- are having
- were having
Show answer
B. has
The subject is each, not players. Each is singular, so it takes the singular verb has. The phrase of the players is just describing it. This is one of the most common grammar traps: cross out the of phrase, and the subject becomes clear. The same goes for every, either, neither, and one of: they all take a singular verb.
DCAT FAQ
