What is the CFP exam format?
As of October 2026, CFP Board describes the exam as a 170-question, multiple-choice test given in two 3-hour sections on one day at Prometric test centers. Each section includes stand-alone and case-study questions. It is offered in three 8-day testing windows a year.
What is the CFP exam pass rate?
CFP Board publishes results after each administration. It reported a 67% pass rate for the March 2026 exam (4,391 candidates) and 66% for the July 2026 exam (3,621 candidates). The exam is pass/fail, and CFP Board says it does not predetermine the pass rate.
Is this an official CFP exam?
