CA Booking and exam day
Make test day the straightforward part.
Use DRE's current examination pages for your exact scheduling and appointment instructions. These are the practical details worth confirming before you book or arrive.
Schedule
Confirm how and where you will sit for the exam.
DRE administers the salesperson examination at approved testing centers. Confirm your appointment steps, allowed materials, and any test-day rules on DRE's current Taking the Exam page.
Change plans early
Reschedule as early as you can.
DRE fees are non-refundable once submitted, so manage your appointment window carefully. Confirm the current reschedule fee and deadlines before you move an appointment.
During the test
Use the clock and the review time deliberately.
With 150 questions in 3 hours you have, on average, roughly 72 seconds per question. Budget time to flag questions you are unsure about and to use any review screen DRE provides before time expires.
Score
Know how DRE releases your result.
The examination is qualifying in nature: DRE typically does not release your score if you pass, and provides a score report only if you fail. Pass or fail, focus on the disclosed percentage and DRE's next-step instructions.
Accommodation
Request accommodations before exam day.
If you need testing accommodations, work through DRE's published request process in advance rather than expecting an exception at check-in.
